Wijnaldum Struggles to Find Form After LFC Exit
Gini Wijnaldum, has admitted that he’s not “completely happy” at Paris Saint-Germain after failing to make the club’s starting XI.
Wijnaldum was a vital member of Liverpool and the club wanted him to sign a contract renewal, but no agreement was reached.
The Dutchman wanted to join Barcelona as a free agent, however, the move couldn’t be established – then PSG hijacked the bid.
The 30-year-old midfielder is experiencing a rough start to life at Parc des Princes – he has made 11 appearances for the club, but has not completed 90 minutes in PSG’s last six Ligue 1 matches.
While on international duty with the Netherlands, he vented his frustrations over lack of play time.
Wijnaldum said: “I can’t say I’m completely happy because the situation is not what I wanted. I’m a fighter. I have to stay positive and work hard to turn it around.”
He added: “I have played a lot in recent years, was always fit and also did very well. I was really looking forward to the new step and then this happens. It is very difficult.”
